By decision of an extraordinary general meeting of Stredoslovenská energetika, a. s., a contract on the sale of its part - namely the Construction and Engineering Works Division - to a newly - established subsidiary Elektroenergetické montáľe, a. s., (EEM) was approved. Stredoslovenská energetika, a.s. owns 100% of its shares. Effective from September 1, 2004, a new legal entity appeared on the Slovak market whose primary objective involves the construction, restoration and development of electricity facilities supplying electricity to the customers of Stredoslovenská energetika, a. s. This is another successful step made by the company in the process of the organisational unbundling of activities and related management changes aimed at a further increase in efficiency.

The subsidiary SSE - Metrológia, s. r. o., was spun off from the parent company Stredoslovenská energetika, a. s., on January 1, 2004. The company builds on the 50 years of experience of the Metrológia SSE company in the area of verification of electricity meters and has gradually extended its scope of business to include the verification of water meters as components of thermometers and the calibration of meters of electric parameters. Stredoslovenská energetika, a. s. owns a 100% stake.

The purpose of establishing the SSE - D subsidiary was to provide an empty company for the purpose of unbundling the distribution network operator from the parent company as required by the provisions of the Energy Act. Stredoslovenská energetika, a. s. owns 100% of its shares. Therefore, this company will not conduct any business until the distribution component of SSE, a. s., is incorporated in it.
