SSE finished the technological part of 110/22 kV transformer station

On Tuesday 29.9.2005, SSE finished and handed over the technological part of the 110/22 kV transformer station, which will serve the KIA Motors Slovakia factory in Teplicka nad Vahom.
The ribbons were cut and the transformer station was switched on by Ing. Jaroslav Hanzel, SSE General Director, and by Mr. Soon Pil Kwoun, viceprezident of KIA Motors Slovakia.
The transformer station will provide electricity for KIA Motors Slovakia, MOBIS Slovakia and HYSCO Slovakia. It is the biggest SSE investment in 2005.
The transformer station construction was started on April 16, 2005. The SSE daughter company Elektroenergetické montáže, a.s., Odes, Elektrovod Holding, a.s. and LiV ELEKTRA, a.s. were all subcontractors of the site. On the whole, the companies laid 29 km of 22 kV lines. A 3,5 km long 100 kV line on support columns was built from the Varín transformer station into the Teplicka (KIA) station. SSE is so far the only company using this hypermodern technology in Slovakia.
The supplies of electrical energy for KIA Motors Slovakia will start on October 1, 2005. The overall investment costs reached 270 million Sk.
SSE distributes and provides energy for life and business to almost 700 000 customers. It has been active in the Žilina, Banská Bystrica and Trenčín regions for more than 82 years. Building new lines, investing into the distribution network and supporting public interests, it contributes to economic development of the region and improves living standards of its inhabitants. SSE is member of the Electricité de France group.
