Prices for supply of electricity to customers within the household segment of Stredoslovenská energetika, a. s.
On November 27, 2008, the Office for Regulation of Network Industries of the SR issued the Resolution No. 0021/2009/E determining the prices for regulated supply of electricity to customers within the household segment of Stredoslovenská energetika, a. s., (hereinafter referred to as "SSE").
In compliance with the Decree 2/2008 the consumption points from the household segment are divided according to the consumption in 2007 among Small Households and Big Households.
For Small Households representing about 95% of households supplied by SSE, the electricity purchase was secured according to the Resolution of the Ministry of Economy of the SR for Slovenské elektrárne, a. s., and these will record only marginal increase of the integrated price on average (1.3%).
On the other hand, in spite of the fact that the average integrated price of electricity supply for Big Households in comparison with Small Households is only slightly higher (about 1%), the customers from the segment of Big Households will face more significant increase of costs - by 28.4% on average.
This increase reflects major prices increase on the electricity market - since 2006 year, and still nowadays, as well as high impact of the costs on electricity purchase for the supply in integrated price which represented more than 50 % in 2008. SSE procured this electricity on a free market, while in October 2008 it optimised the portfolio so that it would achieve the most favourable price for this segment.
