Prices SSE 2008 - households

On 30 November, the Regulatory Office for Network Industries (RONI) approved integrated prices for electricity customers in the category of households for 2008. For the customers of Stredoslovenská energetika, a.s. (SSE) the average increase in prices for electricity supply amounts to 3.84%. This significant attenuation of effects caused by increased wholesale price of electricity for households was reached thanks to an agreement between the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, RONI, Slovenské elektrárne (SE/ENEL) and SSE. The prices of the most used D1 and D2 tariffs will drop by some 2%. The D25 tariff designated for storage heating continues to be SSE's most advantageous electricity tariff in Central Slovakia, the use of which SSE supports in line with its long term strategy.

The representatives of the Ministry of Economy, RONI, SE/ENEL, SSE, Východoslovenská energetika, a.s. (VSE) and Západoslovenská energetika, a.s. (ZSE) have reached mutual agreement concerning the limit of the increase in prices for electricity supply for households in 2008. For this reason, the increase in prices for electricity supply for households in Slovakia will be lower than in other V4 countries.
The integrated price of electricity for households in Central Slovakia will increase by 3.84% on average.
The D1 and D25 tariffs used by some 80% of the SSE's customers will drop by approximately 2%. To the contrary, the D37 tariff for direct heating method, which will remain the second lowest tariff in the SSE offer also in 2008, will increase by 14.7% on average. As in the last year, the increase in this tariff is caused by necessity to cover the costs of supply as well as by the development of the commodity purchase price for customers with direct heating.
The D25 tariff for households with storage heating continues to be SSE's most advantageous electricity tariff for household customers. The D25 tariff will increase by only 0.4 % year-on-year and the price in the low tariff will not change in year-on-year terms.
In line with its corporate responsibility, SSE actively promotes this environment-friendly heating method with bright long-term prospects through its pricing policy. Compared to direct heating method, this alternative brings the households an opportunity to make considerable savings on their energy bills. In this context, SSE prepared further benefits for its customers:

  • significant discounts up to 30% of the costs of modern, energy-efficient storage heating technologies.
  • an advantageous unsecured consumer loan with maturity of up to 10 years in cooperation with the Dexia bank in Slovakia (Dexia banka Slovensko).
The SSE company is interested in continuing this strategy in the future and prepares new attractive offers in 2008 for its customers who plan to switch from direct heating to the storage heating method.
